Join the
Mission

DPI Governance is not the responsibility of a single stakeholder. When governments join forces with supportive actors around them, it can make DPI safe and inclusive, while simultaneously accelerating its adoption.

Regardless of your role in a country’s DPI ecosystem, you can utilise the following pathways to shape safe and inclusive DPI.

Open Government Partnership

The Open Government Partnership (OGP) helps governments and citizens work together to build more open, resilient, and prosperous societies through empowerment, collaboration, and accountability.

From 2026, countries National Action Plans can reflect commitments on digital public infrastructure. Get in touch with Tim: tim.hughes@opengovpartnership.org

UN’s DPI Safeguards Initiative

A multi-stakeholder approach to ensure DPI implementations mitigate risks at both the individual and societal level, advance the Sustainable Development Goals and foster trust and equity across all countries.

Countries can sign up to the Safeguards Initiative through UNDP’s Safeguards Secretariat. Get in touch with them: https://www.dpi-safeguards.org/resources

Human Rights for ID Coalition

The HR4ID Coalition is a transnational community of civil society organizations, researchers, and advocates dedicated to protecting equity, justice, and human rights in digital identity systems.

If you want to contribute to their research or advocacy efforts, become part of the coalition, or get in touch with them, you can reach them at: admin@hr4id.org
